i was watching Mr. Hercule Poirot and i remember how much i love this drama. played by David Suchet, this is the best Poirot i have ever seen. i think nobody could ever match him in playing this interesting character. the first time i watch this series was when i was 15 years old, i guess. and i was hooked from the first episode. even now, this drama is still in my best movies/dramas list.
i guess it's also because i love watching period drama or movies, up to the 50's only. i found the years before 50's to be more interesting and intriguing. in those years, life seems to be more simple, peaceful and adequate, not like now. if you watch P.Ramlee's movies, you can see how simple life is, and how interesting Malaysia used to be. and i love that. maybe because i love simple things in life, there's no need to compete and not many crime like today.
talking about that, i remember something. i used to love reading newspaper but now i avoid reading it. it's not really good because i wouldn't know what happens around the world but what good could it bring when all you can see is only people dying, murders, war and crimes? back then, people don't sell their kidneys just to get an ipod but now they do. it really depressed me. i just wish that we can be where we used to be. so peaceful and people are afraid of doing crimes.
but, we are living in the times where money or personal gains are more important than being nice to each other. there's no more value of living your life in virtue. through these period movies/dramas, i can just get away even for a while and marvel at the life. if only Doraemon is alive, not just a fiction, then i could borrow his time machine and wonder around in those period.
well, i've been babbling for quite some time now, so it's better to stop and continue watching my dear Mr. Poirot...
till next time....
